Smear Artists
Offended by all of the users of the popular user-submitted content website, Digg.com, who have repeatedly submitted spam, inaccurate and smear articles, I have put together the following list of users. You may wish to either always digg down their stories, report them or send them messages explaining how much you hate them… I really don’t care. All I know is that us conservatives (and sane liberals) need to band together and do something about the extreme and radical liberals inundating Digg. All of the following Digg users are either spreading radical ideals, lies or myths about McCain / Palin or any other politically-related subjects.
If you know of a user (republican or democrat, this list is not biased) not on this list who spams Digg with Huffington Post or DailyKos lies, etc, then please comment this blog with the user name and link, and be sure to report them on Digg. I will add them to this list.
Are you a conservative who has been blocked by Digg? Please contact me.

*Thanks goes out to Andy for this great tip*

So your ’smear list’ only includes people who disagree with your politics?
I’m not saying they aren’t smearing, I’m sure they are, and I don’t like it anymore then you, but only reporting Democrats who smear and not Republicans isn’t seeking the truth it’s just pushing for your side.
[Editor's Reply:]
This smear list includes users who submit articles that are highly biased and generally unfair. I will be reporting anyone who smears, I never said that I would not report republicans. I do not associate with anyone who submits biased, unfair and smearing articles, no matter their party affiliation. If you know of anyone who is involved in this misuse of Digg, I would love to list them on this list.
Thank you for your comment.

Reported a couple of them because all they do is submit Bluffington Post articles. They must work for that website or something.

I see you’ve added me (salome191) to your smear list. I find that hilarious due to the fact that I have never submitted any spam or smear to Digg. Also hilarious is the fact that you are tired of “liberals” on digg, when I am in fact a republican and will be voting for McCain. You should add yourself to your smear list because you’ve just smeared my good name. Get your facts straight before you post lists about people who post stories you don’t like on digg.
[Editor's Reply:]
salone191,
I am sorry for the error. I must have copied and pasted the wrong link when I was going through some posts last night. I have taken you off the list and double checked all the other profiles. Once again, I am very sorry for this error.

Thanks!

You, sir are the exact type of people who are not welcome on Digg. You simply Digg articles based on whether they came from HuffPo or not, without judging the content.

I commend you for your efforts. I’m sick of ignorance that anyone with a computer and an internet connection can dish out these days. What’s worse is that you throw in a point system like digg or reddit and folks would be more inclined to get +diggs rather than speaking what they truly believed in.

When they constantly spam with huffpo articles that are untruthful and biased, they’re smearing. I reported a couple of people already and got replies back. A few only submit Huff Po articles so I assume they work for them somehow.

I find it interesting that you deleted my comment. I spent some time rationally and logically arguing against your viewpoint and never attacked you or wrote inappropriate comments. In fact, my post was more about discussing the topic of smears in general than anything you had to say.
The fact you have deleted my post rather than reply demonstrates you are either incapable of understanding my ideas, not intelligent enough to reply, or are a coward.
Censoring opposing viewpoints is a critical component of fascism. Congratulations on proving to your readers, and yourself what a “pinhead” (your words) you are.
[Editor's Reply:]
Justin,
Before you go around bashing me for “deleting” your comment, please be sure to ascertain the facts first. I did not get a comment from you, however, please submit your comment again. Please be aware, as I have stated on my blog before, that I do not censor comments (unless they are cursing me out, etc). I reply to any comments that challenge my views, therefore, I ask you to please resubmit your comment.
Thank you.

Censorship is against American ideals. Read the bill of rights, it clearly denotes freedom of speech.
“Radical Ideas”- what do you mean by this, anything you dislike? Fascism is always fun, right?
Digg is for ALL news, not just what you want to see. Smears are, in fact, news, particularly if they’re true. Politics is always news.
Go watch Fox News if you want to stay in your little cocoon of conservative lore. This is the internet, which was created and funded by Al Gore, a Democrat. Look it up if you don’t believe me.
Oh, and if you feel the need to argue with me, that is my real email address.
[Editor's Reply:]
Censorship will be in place on this blog for all comments that include personal attacks and any deframatory language. I will not, however, delete comments that have a different view than my personal opinions. Saying that I delete anything that I “don’t like” is a very irresponsible statement on your part, and equating me to fascism is immature and quite comical to me. Your comment will serve as a laughing stock for all reasonable people who happen upon my blog.
Stating that Digg is for news is not a new idea, buddy. I know that. I am fighting against people who submit articles that are deframatory, inaccurate, include many lies and spins, and in general have a bad taste. Also, your comment about Al Gore inventing the internet is one of the most absurd things I have heard all day. He did not do so: http://www.perkel.com/politics/gore/internet.htm.
I suggest that you get your facts straight before you decide to post on my blog again.
Thank you

I appreciate the effort you put into your blog! In regards to Digg spammers, i agree, I am sick of the Huff/Kos’ers out there.
What advice would you give to an conservative digger like myself, who doesnt want to SMEAR, but does want to engage in topics that may be controversial?
eg. Do you consider WND.com a “smear” site?”
Thanks again and keep up the great work.
[Editor's Reply:]
First off, thank you very much for the comment. Secondly, I look at the comments that Diggers post over all, and the number of items they post. For instance, I do not add a Digger to this list if they have only posted items from The Huffington Post, etc. I base my judgment on there overall Digg history and whether or not they present a fair argument. However, if a user submits 20 Huffington Post (or any website for that matter) articles, I will add them to this list. I have no problem with people who have opinions different than mine; that’s the beauty of our Great Land. My main problem comes from those members of Digg.com who promote articles that contain a significant amount of lies, smear, myths… etc. I am trying to do my best to keep it as fair as possible. Honestly, I have had a hard time finding radical conservatives on Digg. I guess it’s because Digg’s demographic is very young a democratic, but nonetheless I am looking out for radicals of any party.
The best advice I could give is to try and not get carried away (which I admit I have done before) fighting the liberals. They say things sometime just to get conservatives fired up so that we will reply, and they can have a grand old time digging us down.
Once again, thank you very much for your comment!

Hi Jeremy,
Just one comment about your response to BungalloBill, or whoever that was. I do agree that Bill is generally an idiot. Anyone who does not objectively question their faith is a blind fool in my opinion, but I disagree with your response to his comment.
While I would, again, technically agree that your response is appropriate to his ignorance, what bothers me the most is how inclusive your statements are by use of association. You put words such as biased, radical, irresponsible, and fake in the same context as liberal. Where as, real Americans are those that don’t buy into that barbaric and uneducated crapp, thus implying that the true and righetious patriots of America are obviously not liberals, thus Republicans.
In actuality, there are just as many ignorant, biased radical republicans as there are democrats. If you look at either side of the line, these are just descriptors to be applied to an individual. They are exclusive of eachother, so please stop associating liberals as these whacky, biased, radical nuts that aren’t ‘real americans’. Again, you don’t directly say this, but the association of adjectives strongly implies this, which can be just as powerful as saying it directly.

I’d like to thank you for creating this list. In the past year, Digg has been filled of Pro-Obama/Anti-McCain material. While I don’t have a preference for either candidate, I do find it unfair if there are articles posted that are slightly biased. E.g., CNN had an article last night that was Dugg. A Digg user’s title? Something like “McCain lies during speech”, but if you go to that article it had both McCain and Obama’s lies and contradictions. Also, I’m just hoping for the day the “Huffington Post” eventually croaks. It seems like nothing but a phony news source. If they’re trying to replicate The Onion, they’re doing so terribly.

In reading over some of the posts here, I see a few that mention Diggers who are allegedly anti-Semitic. I call into question both their understanding of the term itself as well as the difference between being anti-Israel and being anti-Semitic. There are other Semitic peoples aside from Israeli Jews.
Also, simply because a person doesn’t agree with the Israeli government, its policies, or its treatment of the Palestinians, does not make that person an anti-Semite or anti-Jewish. Those persons you or others have listed on this little black list, simply because they don’t agree with Israel are being blacklisted for their beliefs.
[Editor's Reply:]
I am not sure where you get the anti-Jewish, etc. comments from. This list has nothing to do with that, and everything to do with people (mainly liberals) who smear the facts, spread lies and spam over the popular website Digg.com. This list is not for people who do not agree with me or conservatives in general. If that were the case, I would list every liberal. I am simply listing people on this list who are a general annoyance to Digg, submit spam, inaccurate stories, lies, etc. Both democrats and republicans will be included on this list. I want to make it clear that this list is titled “Smear Artists” because I am listing people who submit very unfair and biased trash to Digg. For instance, if someone submits 20 anti-McCain articles from the Huffington Post, that is spam. I will add them to this list. I hope you understand now. This blog is an American blog, might I add. Thank you.

Would you not agree that littlegreenfootballs.com and worldnetdaily.com are also smear sites, where any ideas or commentary representing a left wing view is immediately quashed? I realize that you’re only concerned with what you deem to be smear tactics employed on digg.com, but to not take the same stance with other social interest sites which do the same thing in the opposite direction (such as the aforementioned) seems a bit hypocritical.
The census of the digg community is comprised, one can reason, of younger and more liberally minded individuals. They generally tend to be more intelligent than average and are in tune with current buzz. The fact that the majority of such a demographic would tend to have political leanings that are not right of center, is not something that you will be able to change. The fact that stories from left wing propaganda mills such as huffingtonpost.com and dailykos.com are dugg more than anything from foxnews.com shouldn’t come as any surprise to you at all.
I’m what you would consider very left wing and very proud of it, yet I don’t appreciate all the political stories on Digg coming from HuffPo or KOS any more than you do. Does it mean the stories are inaccurate because they lean strongly left? Not necessarily, but it certainly calls into question whether or not they are telling the entire scope of any one story. The same applies to Fox News with their hilarious claim to be “fair and balanced”.
[Editor's Reply:]
I understand where you are coming from. I consider all websites, blogs and posts to be smear if they include exaggerated facts, do not admit that there could possibly be another side to the story, repeatedly post false stories, unfairly attack a candidate (i.e. attack Palin for having kids, but never attacked a male VP for having kids), etc. I understand that some people are very liberal, and that is fine. However, the smear and inaccurate stories must stop. I salute you for being left wing, for standing up for your beliefs, for being a proud American and standing up for yourself. I have never, and never will, have a problem with liberals. My problem comes from radical liberals (and republicans). I understand that you believe Fox News to be biased, as I agree that they are. However, I think it is a safe statement to say that they are not as biased as CNN, MSNBC, CBS, etc. That is why I watch Fox News. Thank you very much for your comment, and thank you for viewing my blog. Your ideas and comments, good or bad, are always welcome here.

It’s unfortunate that your instructions are enabling people to bury as inaccurate stories that are completely factual and sourced, or are opinion pieces that should not be subject to the label of “inaccurate,” as they are simply stating a political position.
[Editor's Reply:]
I am sorry that you feel that way, Chris. However, the stories that the above users submit digg (many users digg 10-15 stories per minute- clearly a script of some seriously unfair Digging) are NOT “completely factual and sourced”. That is the most outrageous thing that I have heard all day. Opinion articles are NOT the problem; the problem is the constant submission and digging of stories that are false, contact many inaccuracies and are in general smear. It would be stupid of me write about how to bury opinion articles, because my own blog is opinion I, however, am helping people bury users who are a nuisance because they post spam. Digg’s own TOC of spam is very loosely defined, so it is only the right of the user to use scripts that bury users who spam. I am sorry that you think that we all should have to see stories from people that we do not want to, but this blog is part of a huge network of blogspheres fighting back at Digg’s liberal agenda. Once again, I am sorry you cannot see this.
